Craig Rackley - Lead Investigator
Craig is a teacher, artist, web designer, and professional photographer. He began an interest in the paranormal as a child listening to a family friend tell them stories about her experiences in ghost hunting. After years of studying the supernatural and methodology of paranormal investigation, he decided the timing was right to form Birmingham Paranormal.
By nature, Craig is a cautious and skeptically minded individual. He likes to scrutinize all of the evidence that he and his team gathers and will only accept evidence that does not have a reasonable alternative explanation.
Shay Nixon - Investigator-in-Training
Shay Nixon is from Birmingham, Alabama. She is one of the newest paranormal investigators with Birmingham Paranormal. After living in a home with what she believes to be paranormal activity, she was left with the unanswered question as to whether it really existe or not. In her mind, from what she experienced, it most certainly does exist! She is interested in observing paranormal phenomena, investigating haunted locations, and discussing and documenting paranormal occurrences. She isa believer and yet mostly skeptic. She has traveled to many destinations and her love for the paranormal allows her to see some truly amazing and wonderful locations. She is also in the Real Estate industry.
Derek Boyd - Investigator-in-Training
For the past 15 years, Derek has worked as a cameraman, grip, & electric in film and high definition video production in Birmingham, Alabama. His job has taken him to all corners of the country, points in between, and even Europe.
I've always be interested in the paranormal, especially when I witnessed (at the age of 16) a ghost (a little boy wearing a baseball cap) standing in the hallway of my parents house one evening. This was later confirmed when my mother told me she saw the same little boy on a separate occasion earlier. Since then, I've always wondered what's on the other side.
Cameron Hamilton - Lead Investigator
Cameron is an RN and former Bail Enforcement Agent. He has been investigating the paranormal since age 15. His Cherokee ancestry has given him a strong tie to the spirit world. This coupled with years of spiritual based martial arts has fed his curiosity and desire for answers to what lurks in the unseen world around us. He brings his enthusiasm and experience to Birmingham Paranormal and has been a valued member of our team since its beginning.
Les Rayburn - Lead Investigator / Tech Manager
Les is a director of documertaries and commercials and has been in the film industry for years. His curiosity and skepticism of the paranormal led him to begin investigating along with his wife, Abby. He brings a scientific, skeptical view to the team. He is committed to finding the truth and bringing a certain validity to the world of paranormal investigation.
Abby Rayburn - Lead Investigator / Tech Specialist
Abby is a producer in the film industry with many years of experience in the entertainment industry. She grew up with paranormal experiences and has sought answers since she was a young child. Her experiences led her to the field of paranormal research. Along with her husband, Les, Abby has become an incredible investigator who is able to balance a natural born sensitivity to the paranormal with a logical and skeptical mindset.
Brad King - Investigator
Brad is an RN and is one of our newest investigators. Like many in the field, he has a natural curiosity of the paranormal and seeks the answers to the many questions out there. Since he has joined Birmingham Paranormal, he has proven himself time and time again as an incredible investigator. He attacks each investigation with an enthusiasm and energy that is infectuous to the other investigators.
Laura Voorhies - Investigator
Laura is a transplanted southerner from Pennsylvania who has been fascinated with the history in the south, and especially enjoys visiting old southern mansions and homes, forts, historical buildings, etc. and plans on staying in the south. She is a sales and marketing professional who recently moved here from Huntsville where she experienced possible paranormal phenomena in her own home, and thus began her search for answers. Her compassion for wanting to help people led her to want to blend her curiosity and answer seeking with helping people to overcome their fears and find answers for them in their own situations.
